Scrapbok Class

Yesterday was our scrapbooking class at the Craft Box, another day of playing with papers and catching up on all of the latest news. This month the ladies had requested to have go at mixed media, well its a new venture for me as well, so I played around with a few bits and pieces and then threw it in the bin! it was awful, not one to be defeated I had another go and came up with this.
My ladies all seemed to enjoy it and thought it was something they would have another go at. Next month the request was for a Halloween page, so that is my challenge for the next few weeks. The next class is on 27th October.
If anybody is interested in a place or having a go at scrapbooking, give the shop a ring to reserve yourself a spot. All levels are catered for and the group is honestly very lovely at helping each other out.

Monthly Challenge

Oh dear the blogging is slipping again, but with the gorgeous weather we are having this weekend I'm sure I can be let off. It seems a bit odd to be making Christmas cards with the sun shining but it will be here in no time at all. There are also some really good challenges going in and they are sparking my interest. This week I completed my next Scrap Whispers challenge but that can't be revealed until the last participant has completed their page. I have a few goodies that I have made all photographed now so hopefully i can catch up with the posts.
Today's card is for Lili of the Valleys monthly challenge, they want to see ribbon and lace on the card. So I  made this little card for my stash. I coloured the image a couple of weeks ago, it is from one the latest release of stamps from LOTV. The snowflakes die is from Memory Box and I bought in a sale, it has lay around and I think I've only cut it once but now it has been discovered again I love it.

Scrap Whispers

I love taking part in the Scrap Whispers challenge, we are divided into teams then a layout is scrap lifted. It is then photographed and passed back to the team leader who passes it to the next person in the team. Each month its amazing to see the page as it changes from person to person, but also between the teams.
I had forgotten to post my last page after the big reveal and it was only when  the next page dropped into my in box that I remembered. This was my page
a bit different for me, to use patterned paper as the back ground but I thought it worked for this layout.Go here yo see the start to finish.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.
Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.
I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.

Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued onto the fron…

Charming is the challenge set over on Winter Wonderland this week. So they would like to see a charm somewhere on the card. I also think it is very apt for the stamp I used, its one of the brand new releases from Lili of the Valley, I loved it as soon as I saw it and of course when it popped through my letter box it had to be inked and stamped straight away. I think this is going to feature very heavily in my cards this year.
The challenge over at Lili's little Fairies is NO Flowers, and as there isn't a flower in sight on this card I am entering it to that challenge as well.
