Checkerd Christmas

Don't faint, I know two posts in one week. Its now getting close to the time that I need to use up all the Christmas images that I have coloured in. Its one of my favourite things to do when I can't decide what I want to make. I stamp out a few images and colour them in ready for the inspiration to hit. I recently sold this stamp on eBay and now I've made the card I'm wondering why. This weeks challenge on Winter Wonderland was to include checks somewhere, so I used a tartan backing paper in Christmas colours and this image just made a super simple card.

Other stuff

I've had a couple of days doing more project type work, something a bit different form my cards and scrapbook pages. My new inspiration go to is Pinterest and while roaming through all the ideas I came upon a page of s weet sledges . I thought what a great idea and they would be nicer as gifts than selection boxes. So I had a go and this is my take on them.  I am really pleased and with all the treat size candy around at the moment they worked out really cost effective, so much cheaper than any selection box. I have wrapped them in cellophane then added a couple of bells. The other thing I've done is decorate a candle for Lynn to display in the Craft Box. We are decorating a candle in a couple of weeks so she ordered some and they were a little small when they arrived. Never to fail I have decorated one so that it shows another style. I stamped and coloured all the holy leaves then blinged it all up with some glittery branches, a heart pin and a luxurious satin bow.

Circus Pop Up

I'm now hooked on the 3D pop up boxes, that my friend told me about and I have now made three. This is the one I started off with, I used the Molly Blooms circus themed stamps, I'm embarrassed to say I have had them ages and this was the first time I used them, but they were perfect for one of these cards.

Nativity Pop Up

I have a couple of friends that always share when they spot something that makes them go Wow. Usually it has the same effect on me and makes me want to immediately have a go. This week Lesley told me about a card in a box, so of course I had to have a go. I made a circus card and love it, but then I wanted to have a go with my lovely Lili of the Valley , nativity stamps. I love these stamps and have used them quite a few times now, so this makes me happy because it was a worth while investment. I love that this card folds flat for posting and then pops out to a lovely box card for somebody special.     This months challenge on the Lili of the Valley Blog is anything goes, so I am entering this into the challenge.

Birthday Greetings

Well I'm  back from a veeeerryy looooong week. I have been working in Devon for a couple of days but the travelling by train has taken a full day to get there and another full day to get home. Its amazing how tiring it can be to just sit on a train. I was dying to just get home and have a cuppa and get into my craft room. The up side of all this is that it will only be a quick flick round with a duster as the house is tidy exactly as I left it. It was my friends birthday at the beginning of the week and as she is a card maker I had to make something a little bit different. Its a swing card with one of my favourite Molly Bloom stamps, I was really please with how this came out and the good news was that she loved it.
