Christmas Traditions

Last week I went to my normal crop at Craft Haven , I love going to these crops because they are so casual and we are all graduates of the SDU course, so its a good way of keeping in touch and catching up. We made a Christmas page so I decided to tell the story of the Christmas tree ornaments. The page is based on this one that I made when I did the recent UK Scrappers Cybercrop , I loved it so much I had to do it again but with Christmas papers.

Craft Haven Crop

Last Thursday I went to my monthly crop at Craft Haven in Sheffield. This months theme was winter, so I sorted through my travel photos and found the gorgeous view from Andorra. We'd gone on a skiing trip, which I hated. It was the first (and last) time I had a go at skiing , and I have to say its not for me. The scenery was beautiful but if you see on the photo there wasn't enough snow. All the seasoned skiers were disappointed and tried to convince me the reason I wasn't enjoying it was that the conditions weren't suitable. My partner also managed to fall on the second day(he was a seasoned skier) and damaged his hand so skiing was off. The country itself was just beautiful so we went for lots of walks, and I made a mental note that holidays were too precious and expensive to spend miserable and cold! I've also noticed I've had exactly 4,000 visits to my blog, I'm well chuffed. Hello visitors!

Best Friends

I went to my monthly scrapbook crop last night at Craft Haven , this months theme was friends. Well when it comes to that there's one I always have to use my bessie mate Theresa. I've known her for 10 years now, we met when a family trip was arranged for us all to go to London, she is the Aunt to my brothers ex-wife. I know it could have been all very awkward when they split up, but it wasn't, our relationship is much stronger than that. We've been there for each other through some very difficult times and some really brilliant times. What do I like about her most, she cares, she makes me laugh and likes all of my paper craft projects! Watch out for a tutorial this week, I was asked by Crafty Dawn to do one for the candle decoration I posted recently. Why not? The challenge has been accepted. I've never done one before, so I will have a go this weekend.

SDU Crop

Last night I went to a crop at Craft Haven , this is where I recently did the SDU course. I was one of their first group and last night was the second groups graduation. I believe they have a third group starting next week. The theme of the crop was Autumn, Nikki had come up with a page and we all made very different pages all with the same materials. It never fails to amaze me how this happens. Here is my page, using photos from a trip to Canada in 1992, this park and the Skylon tower are opposite Niagara Falls. We went up to the top of the tower and had breakfast in the revolving restaurant overlooking the falls, perfect.
