and now for something completely different - November

I am so enjoying my time off work, I promised myself that I would catch up with all my outstanding crafting projects and thankfully I am. I managed to complete the sample for my next class at the Craft Box . We are making a mini book to include photos of their Christmas. I have loved making this sample and the papers worked so well, we will be using Kaisercrafts, Twig and Berry , Turtle Dove and Just Believe . I completed Novembers page from the classes Shimelle Laine is hosting over on UKScrapper s. This was quite a challenging class for me, it involved cutting four photos into strips, mixing them up and then laying them out on the page. I love the finished effect and it meant I could finally use the four photos from my visit to Mount Vernon. On their own they didn't really tell the story but using this format meant that they were used and had the 'missing' point of interest added to them. The rest of the day is going to be more crafting, and possible Christmas ca...

and now for something completely different - October

I missed Septembers class for the year long challenges hosted by Shimelle Laine over on UKS , I still have everything ready but haven't managed to get it together. I loved the one posted for October, this was a class with a difference, a list of instructions but no picture to follow. I thought it was a fabulous way of encouraging us to not create an exact copy of the original page. We all had to hold the page and post it on 31st October, I forgot about posting mine until today but finally its here.

and now for something completely different - August

I was planning to make a page highlighting all of the celebrations in the UK this year. I've had the papers gathered and some photos ready but I couldn't get them all together. That was until I saw the instructions for this months ANFSCD layout over on UK Scrapper s. It came together in no time at all.  It was another great project for using up scraps of paper, although I didn't for this page. I'm looking forward to September's project already.

and now for something completely different - July

Regular readers will know that I like to follow Shimelle's projects over on UK Scrappers . Each year for the last 3 years she has hosted a year long project. This year a list of stash is posted on the 10th of the month, and then the steps to make a layout are posted on the 20th. All finished projects should then be posted on UK Scrappers by the 30th. Its always interesting to see how everybody interprets the instructions.  This month was a little out of the normal for me, but it was a great way to use up some scraps that are laying around. These are all scraps from a few workshops that I took at Scrapstars. I wasn't sure of the page at first but it has grown on me.

And now for something completely different - June

I've been following along with Shimelle's classes over on UK Scrappers , I gathered all my supplies and waited patiently until the 20th for the reveal. Guess what, I was working in Kingston hand had to wait to get back home before I could make my page. These photos were just waiting for this class.

And now for something completely different - May

That's the name of the monthly challenge that Shimelle hosts over on UK Scrappers . A list of requirements is posted on the 10th of every month. followed by the step by step instructions to complete a page on the 20th. Usually I'm posting my page well past the deadline, but not this month. I had gathered a yummy selection of papers but when I saw the instructions and finished page, I completely switched everything, including the photos. I challenged myself to use only scraps from my ever expanding scrap box. I am really pleased with the results. Amazingly I was the first to post a completed page as well.

The take your pick challenge

Here is another page from Shimelle' s weekend of challenges. This is Challenge 9 where we can take the chance to do a project from a closed challenge. I have been trying to keep up with the ' and now for something completely different' projects over on UK Scrappers . I am rubbish, I have been completing the challenges but am late every time. So for challenge 9 I have gone to  February's project I had this page in mind but never made it so here we go, finally.

Beam me up Scotty

I used to love Star Trek as a child but its really not my thing anymore. I was in Washington DC in 1992 and there was a Star Trek exhibition at the Air and Space museum. I went under duress but it was such a great exhibition that I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Over on UK Scrappers there is another year long challenge hosted by Shimelle , on the 10th of every month a list of products is released. Then on the 20th step by step instructions for a layout are posted. The idea is to you your stash up, that's exactly what I did and substituted everything on this list with stash, I did follow the instructions closely though. The thing that took me so long was getting the photos printed at the right size, so I missed the deadline of the 30th but I still posted it.
