Catching up with Cards

I need to make a few cards both for work and for my own stock which seems to have depleted recently. Scrapology have started to issue monthly card challenges, I take part in the scrap pages challenges and found the card challeng while I was checking out the latest scrap challenge. This months card chalenge is a card to say thanks using this sketch  U had a look through my box of offcuts for the papers on  this card and have wanted to make one of  these gerberas for a while. I love how the pink and yellow looks so fresh and girly.

B is for Bunting

The April challenge over on Scrapology this month is B is for Bunting . They want to see bunting somewhere on the page. the sketch is this I struggled a little with this, but then I reminded myself the idea is to be inspired by the sketch. Then it became easy. I like the pleated fan type of bunting, so that is what I decided I wanted to represent on my page. Here is my page I tell the same story every time I show this picture, it was taken on the Great Wall of China. How do you know, well that's the point, I could have been anywhere. I waited until a tourist was passing by that had an SLR camera and passed him mine, asking if he would take a picture of me. As this was pre digital, it wasn't until I got them developed that I got this. The only clue is over my right shoulder way off in the distance. Fortunately I had taken loads of my own shots that I was really pleased with but this was the only one with me in it.

I'm a winner

I can't believe it, I won a prize for my scrap page that I made for February's Scrapology challenge, I was so surprised, I take part in the challenges to try and stretch myself I don't even think about winning, but I am thrilled to bits. They have another good challenge this month using a sketch and adding dimension. I made the page in my previous entry and that then inspired me to make this page I love it, its really fun and proved to me that even if the photos aren't very good, its the memory that counts. The boys were really buzzing when they came back from going to watch Robot Wars, my brother didn't have his camera but managed to get some photos on his phone. I hate the pictures he gets this way they always come out really badly but on this occasion this is all we had.

Scrap with Dimension

What a difference a little bit of sunshine makes, I've got washing drying outside for the first time this year. I'm even hopeful that its warm enough to dry it.  I've also had half an hour tidying the garden, ever hopeful that this year I will get to sit out in it. How I've missed having my breakfast on the patio for the last couple of years. Anyway down to scrapping business, this month the Scrapology challenge is to use a sketch and add some dimension. I've got to admit the sketch was a challenge, it seemed a little bit busy for me, but the design team had come up with some lovely interpretations. Here is the sketch  and here is my page and a couple of close ups of the dimension

Scrapology February Challenge

This month's challenge over on the Scrapology blog is one using lots of borders and punches. I have loads of borders lying around. I just either don't know what to do with them or don't want to use them. Enough of that, these things are bought to be used, this project was perfect to make me use some of them up. I had previously scrapped this photo but wasn't really happy with the page, it was just too pink. I still wanted to go with pink but really needed to tone it down. This was the sketch   and here is the page I made, I've got to say I'm so much happier with it and love the colours. Now I want to buy more borders, I really enjoyed this challenge.

Scrapology January Challenge

I recently found a new scrapbooking challenge blog, well new to me. I am very proud of myself for completing the Document 2010 project last year and want to keep the flow going but really want to whittle down my existing stash of photos. I'm also continuing with my brothers scrapbook for him. When I saw the January Challenge on the Scrapology blog. It happens to be another double page layout. Here is the sketch and here is my layout
