Red and Green

The Winter Wonderland Challenge this week is to make a card with Red and Green as the theme. I immediately thought of holly, I love how simple this card is but it really is very festive.

and now for something completely different - August

I was planning to make a page highlighting all of the celebrations in the UK this year. I've had the papers gathered and some photos ready but I couldn't get them all together. That was until I saw the instructions for this months ANFSCD layout over on UK Scrapper s. It came together in no time at all.  It was another great project for using up scraps of paper, although I didn't for this page. I'm looking forward to September's project already.

Winter Wonderland Challenge

Today has been very still, although it was warm the sun never really broke through and the atmosphere was very quiet and still. I took advantage of the peace and have made a scrapbook page, unfortunately I can't share it as its a potential class page. I also made some more Christmas cards, this weeks challenge at Winter Wonderland is winter sports.  I searched through my Christmas stamps and found this cute little boy going sledging with his teddy. I don't need much of an excuse to have a go with my Promarkers. I made two using some new papers that I recently purchased, they are from Docrafts and its their back to basics Christmas pack.

At last

I can now reveal a secret that I have been holding for a little while. I have been asked to teach scrapbooking at one of my favourite craft shops. the Craft Box at Elsecar. I was a bit hesitant at first but now I am getting excited. The first class will be held on Sunday 16th September and will be a full day of fun, chat and scrapbooking. So if you want to have a go, give Lynn a ring and book yourself a place. All levels are welcome, I'm sure everybody will enjoy themselves. This is a sneaky peek of the prototype I made, we will be using different papers and its an interactive page. They aren't the best pictures but the layout is very pretty.   The second page will use the same papers to create a coordinating partner for those of you who like your pages to match in your scrapbook.

Christmas is coming

Card makers out there know that when it gets to summer it is time to start making their Christmas cards. I was really pleased that at yesterdays colouring class at Lili of the Valley was one of their new Christmas images. It was the lick I needed to start making my cards. This was the image we coloured that I have made up into a card.   Not able to resist the cute stamps I bought three, it would have been rude not to. When I got back home I thought as I already had the Christmas coloured pens out that it would be a good idea to practise. I had bought some cute little 4 x 4 cards and for this year I am just going to stamp an image and colour them in. Keeping it simple but also trying to improve my colouring technique. I love how simple and cute they are, not only the size but the image is a perfect size for them.     Over the next couple of weeks I am away from home with work, and it is sooo boring staying in hotels. My friend Lesley came up with the idea of stamping some

Time for a card

Oh Dear my blog is really getting neglected these days. I have a couple of things that are completed but I can't post them yet, so this morning found me bright and early looking through my photos and I found this card that I hadn't posted. It seems just right for the moment, what with team GB doing us proud with the medals. I loved the Penny Black images to celebrate London this year and had to buy this one and one with a London bus. They have been perfect for the men's cards this year.  So following on from my weekend of scrapbooking last week, today I am meeting my friend Lesley for an afternoon of colouring. Lili of the Valley have an advanced colouring class, taught by the lovely Bev Rochester . and we are going to learn big girl colouring. No doubt some of their lovely stamps will end up falling into my bag. Funny how that happens whenever I go there!

A Fun Weekend

This weekend I have my friend Julia coming to visit again, so we are having a full weekend of scrapbooking and catching up planned. We both need this weekend to find and encourage our mojos out of hiding. I recently found myself going back to cards as I couldn't get inspired with my scrapbook pages. I woke up this morning excited at getting down to doing some pages. For today's craft inspiration this card was made using a hostess gift from Stampin Up . I fell in love with this set when I saw it recently and my lovely friends Lesley and Caroline made a present of it when I had them over recently. I love this set.
