Stretch the Sketch - March

What a difference a little bit of sunshine makes.I've made a couple of scrapbook pages this weekend and taking the photographs was sooo much easier. It also gave me the chance to wash my bed linen and dry it outside. Tonight I will have line fresh linine to snuggle into, one of my most favourite things. This page is using the sketch for this month's stretch the sketch challenge over on two peas in a bucket .This is the sketch and here is my page.

Warren's Cards

Finally from the same Warren Project of the month pack from Craftwork Cards , I have made two more cards. This kit has gone on and on, I can't believe how much you can get from these kits. I still have a stack fo cards, and four of the Warren ovals left and a couple fo sheets of paper, although one piece has been cut into. Well worth the money if you ask me.

Hang out the Bunting

Bunting seesm to be everywhere and what better way to celebrate Warren's arrival thatn some bunting? Yes this project of the month from Craftwork Cards is still going, and there's still more to go at. A real bargain at £17.50, go here to see what you get in the kit. For this bunting I only added 1 sheet of 12X12 cardstock.

Project 12 - March

I have really enjoyed making the pages for March's Project 12 over on Scrapbook Cards and Trends Blog . I'm using the sketches to make a hole in my massive pile of holiday photos.I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it and have kept it becasue I think its one I'll use over and again. This is my take on the page, I used another of my stock of Sarah's Cards kits, once again I am embarrased to say this was still hinging around completely untouched and is from January 2010, ooops!  I love these Bo Bunny Flutter Butter papers and guess that the reason they were not used is becasue They are so pretty I would have cried when I cut into them. As it happens I didn't.

A little bit more Warren

The monthly project from Craftwork Cards , just goes on and on. I posted some of the projects I made last weekend here . There was so much left that I am still playing with it, here I've used some of the papers, candi and cards, I added a piece of 12 x 12 card stock to make this lovely page of my two nephews when they were little. The silver and blue papers, with black and white photos is just gorgeous, can you see the mats for the photographs? I used two of the on the edge  cards and cut them down. I liked the bracket edge and its was just the detail I needed here. Over on two peas in a bucket , they are running free monthly classes, 4 each month, by 4 different designers. Shimelle Laine 's classes are to build up from one photo on a layout adding another photo each month. So February's class was to use two 4X6 photos. It was this class I had in mind when I created this page. How are we going to get 12 4X6 photos on the layout in December? I'm very intrigued.

Boy time again

I was asked last week to make a card for one of the boys at work, his father was 75. As usual boy organisation gave me only a couple of hours to make it. Never one to back down I created this. It's very simple but he really liked it, a good job really without any notice. I've had an evening with Warren again today, but I can't photograph until the weekend. I need to retake the photos from the last lot of work I did because they didn't do the projects any justice.

Introducing Warren

Last weekend I took delivery of the latest project of the Month from Craftwork Cards, it was choc full of Warren delicious goodies, there is tons in this kit. The Warren colour me's are lovely, Promarkers and Copics, colour beautifully on them. Here is a card I made using one of the fabulous on the edge cards. Isn't he cute? I then made a little gift bag using the papers, these bags are best made with card stock, but these papers are more than papers, you have to feel the weight to appreciate the quality. They are definitely substantial enough for this. and finally for today here is a picture frame I made, I love making these frames with lots of detail. these papers are great for baby projects too. I've also used the papers on a scrap book page but am struggling to get a good photo at the moment. Have a look at the other DT members blogs for some more great ideas, go here , here , here , here , here and here.

Canvas time

A few weeks ago my friend was telling me that she had decorated her daughters bedroom. The theme is butterflies, hello, that's right up my street. Her problem was finding something for one wall that didn't cost a fortune. I offered to have a go at making some canvases for her and this is what I have come up with a close up of one of them and a close up of some of the details Operation Warren this afternoon.

Baby Shower Gift

It's a new thing to me is baby showers, what is the correct thing to do? My scrapbooking buddy Julia is hosting a baby shower tonight for her daughter in law who is due to have the first baby in the family. Understandably they are beyond exited, I was very honoured to have been invited because it is for close family,  and although I don't know Julia's family I hear about them often. I have bought a pair of little bootees, some scratch mitts and a snuggle blanket. They are just token gifts for the day. What I spent most time on was making the gift bag, I came a cross a link that led me here , for $5 I loved the tote enough to buy the template. Here is the gift bag I made using the template, I can see this being a good investment .  There's a little purse to go with the bag but I didn't make it on this occasion. I've got to laugh at the bunny's face, he's not too sure at all really is he?

I'm on the Cover

I have finally managed to get my hands on the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine, I kind of had a nod a few weeks ago, but now I've seen it with my own eyes. I made the cover!! Woo Hoo!. Last summer I went nuts over Craftwork Cards Vintage Rose line of products. I was asked to make one or two projects for their Inspiring your Passion CD.  I loved the papers so much I made a ton of projects.  Here is the cover and inside I've got 5 pages, count them 1,2,3,4,5 I can't stop smiling. Here is another card from the collection that isn't in the magazine. I've got my hands on the adorable Warren project of the month, so come back and check out what I make with it.

I'm a winner

I can't believe it, I won a prize for my scrap page that I made for February's Scrapology challenge, I was so surprised, I take part in the challenges to try and stretch myself I don't even think about winning, but I am thrilled to bits. They have another good challenge this month using a sketch and adding dimension. I made the page in my previous entry and that then inspired me to make this page I love it, its really fun and proved to me that even if the photos aren't very good, its the memory that counts. The boys were really buzzing when they came back from going to watch Robot Wars, my brother didn't have his camera but managed to get some photos on his phone. I hate the pictures he gets this way they always come out really badly but on this occasion this is all we had.

Scrap with Dimension

What a difference a little bit of sunshine makes, I've got washing drying outside for the first time this year. I'm even hopeful that its warm enough to dry it.  I've also had half an hour tidying the garden, ever hopeful that this year I will get to sit out in it. How I've missed having my breakfast on the patio for the last couple of years. Anyway down to scrapping business, this month the Scrapology challenge is to use a sketch and add some dimension. I've got to admit the sketch was a challenge, it seemed a little bit busy for me, but the design team had come up with some lovely interpretations. Here is the sketch  and here is my page and a couple of close ups of the dimension

Back to Scrap

I've had this double page layout, sitting around for a week. Roll on the lighter days so that I can photograph and upload my pages a bit quicker. I can get the cards but the pages need the light. Over on two peas in a bucket , they are running four free monthly classes, each one focusing on a different subject. Jen Gallacher is encouraging us to ' stretch the sketch '. Each month a new sketch is published and we are encouraged to us it a the inspiration for our page. This is the sketch for February  Here is my page, I didn't change the sketch too much, I actually liked it the way it was.    I am really enjoying making double page layouts at the moment, there are some really great sketches out there and you all know I love my sketches for scrapbooking. I used the June 2009 kit from Sarah's Cards , its embarrassing how many of these beautiful kits I have but am not using. Go here to see the kits that are for sale and some are on sale. I have realised how many pape

Boys everywhere

It would seem that men's cards are taking over my crafting space and blog. Here is another card for the boys. Clean and simple. On another note I was just chatting with Caroline who is organising the Scrapstars retreat. OMG she has so much planned, demonstrations, raffles, goody bags and Monique Jacobs is delivering a class featuring a vintage wedding album. There are still a few places left, so if you are at a loose end the weekend of 1st April, treat yourself I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
