Scrapstars Class

I cant believe its almost a month since the Scrap Stars retreat. Time is flying by so quickly and I haven't posted to layouts. My first class was to focus on a technique. We took 5 photos and cut progressively smaller squares that rotated form each of five duplicate photos. It reminded me of the Iris folding that I used to do years ago. It seems like an old fashioned technique now but this gave it an update

Im back

Well it is a long time since I posted but I have finally given in to the pressure from various sources that I need to keep the blog going. A number of things caused my absence. A change in job that has made many demands on my time and leaked into my private time greatly. This impacted my mojo and we all know when that goes it can take some time to regain. I also decided to redecorate and have some work done at the house, why does changing one room spill over to every room in the house? This then takes almost 12 months to get back to where it should have been. Throughout all of this I did spit and spat at my crafts and attended some classes and retreats to keep my hand in. I also continued to teach at Scrapstars and am delighted to have been asked to teach again in April this year. So I now have a pile of finished layouts that need to be put into albums, as I go through them I will post them to keep everybody up to date.......if anybody is still out there! I was invited to Irela...

Scrapbok Class

Yesterday was our scrapbooking class at the Craft Box , another day of playing with papers and catching up on all of the latest news. This month the ladies had requested to have go at mixed media, well its a new venture for me as well, so I played around with a few bits and pieces and then threw it in the bin! it was awful, not one to be defeated I had another go and came up with this.          My ladies all seemed to enjoy it and thought it was something they would have another go at. Next month the request was for a Halloween page, so that is my challenge for the next few weeks. The next class is on 27th October. If anybody is interested in a place or having a go at scrapbooking, give the shop a ring to reserve yourself a spot. All levels are catered for and the group is honestly very lovely at helping each other out.

It's a bit late

While getting ready for today's scrapbooking class at the Craft Box I realised I haven't posted pictures of the class I taught last month ooops! For this class we made a pop up page, featuring a Sizzix die that I think is no longer being produced. I've had this doe for ages and haven't used it. Sometimes I imagine a page in my head and whenitI comes to making it everything comes together very quickly. Not so with this one, for some reason I couldn't transfer my thoughts onto the page. A couple of false starts and then two weeks later it finally happened. Fortunately because I had made all the mistakes the ladies all made lovely pages.

Where have I been?

Since I last posted I've been working and sleeping pretty much all of the time. A couple of weeks ago I had horrible flu that put me in my bed for three days, the furthest I ventured was the kitchen for a drink. Since then I cannot seem to shale off this horrible cough and cold. I've been trying to convince myself I'm fine but as soon as I get in from work all my energy has gone and all I want to do is get in bed. Today I am determined not to give in to it and I will do some crafting, or at the very least finish something off. Last Sunday was my monthly class at the Craft Box , as always a lovely day with ladies that made me laugh. We made this page one lady said that the little roses on the bottom left of the picture looked like eyes and now every time I look at them I see eyes. Now to make a cup of tea and plant myself in my craft room.

Ladies What Craft

Sunday was a great day, nine ladies came to the Class I was teaching at the Craft Box . Instead of being ladies what lunch we crafted. They had previously made a request for a baby them. I spotted some lovely papers from Graphic 45 called Little Darlings  that was perfect. I made up samples for both  girls and boys and the girls was the most popular. Everybody went away with a completed page that just needed photos adding.          The next class is on the 2nd December, so the thinking cap is back on.

Sneaky Peek and a Top Three

This weekend I seem to have got back on top of all my jobs that need doing and I'll even have a bit of time later on for crafting.  I was thrilled to see that Winter Wonderland have picked me as one of their top three again this week, it was the Across the Miles card that I made. This is all very encouraging when you're mojo seems to be having a mid term break. Until I've got some more crafting to photograph here are some sneaky peeks of the next class I am teaching at The Craft Box on the 21st October.
