Too lazy

I have been very bad at blogging recently no excuses but it seems to be at the bottom of my to do list. I have a few more pages to post for the ATDML cybercrop, but I need to get round to printing the photos. I also have a few cards to share and another sugarcraft creation, so I have subject matter but no time to post about them. Today I have a card I made for one of my friends who is leaving work, this is the one for everybody to sign. I cannot claim the idea as mine, unfortunately I can't give the credit to the inspiration. I saw it in a magazine a few weeks ago and liked its simplicity. Now some weeks later when I needed a leaving card and  made this one up I cannot find the magazine. I  have no idea whether it was a recent one or an old one that I flicked through and then passed on. It was a great way to use up some scraps that were kicking around.

Another Leaver

I had another leaving card to make this week. I had this Tim Holtz die sitting on my desk since it fell in my basket last week at the Craft Box . So I needed no other excuse I could use it on a mans card. I  laughed at myself when I made the leaves, I guess I was hooked after the project we made last Sunday. This is currently going round the office  So now to think of something to do with the other goodies that fell in the basket.

Busy, busy, busy

I haven't posted in a while because I've just been too busy. Last weekend was another fabulous retreat at Scrapstars in Leeds, thanks to Caroline' s fantastic organisation, ably assisted by Lesley . Each and every project was fantastic, I didn't finish anything but that's exactly what I like. It means I can continue the retreat experience at home. That of course means I also have to continue eating great food and having late nights. It was lovely to see the other delegates again and to catch up. I will post the projects as I finish them but for the moment here is a card I have just made for one of the boys who is leaving us in a couple of weeks. The joke is he makes toast for his lunch most days, and as nobody ever clears out the toaster it usually smells of burning. I sit right next to the kitchen area so I usually can still smell the burnt toast in my hair when I get home. It is a running joke in the company, of course it had to be included on the card.

ATDML Cybercrop - Challenge 4

Saturdays Challenge 4 over at A Trip Down Memory Lane was to use a sketch. I seem to have made a few cards during this cybercrop, which has been really handy to replenish my depleting stock. One of the boys at work is leaving in a couple of weeks, so I used the sketch to make his leaving card. This was the sketch   and here is the card I made

Penny Black meets Allsorts

I am not one for combining challenges, I do see it as a bit of a cheat. It's easy to make a challenge fit a card for butterflies by saying there's a butterfly sitting on Tilda's shoe! But if you think about it, it doesn't really does it? The focus is really the Tilda and not the butterfly. That's why I like the rules on the Penny Black Challenge Blog they are very clear, the focus of the card MUST be a Penny Black stamp. The Allsorts Challenge Blog has rules as well, the card can be entered in as many challenges as possible but it MUST follow the weeks theme. Both blogs don't mind combining with other challenges. Rules are good because there's no misunderstanding. I have to admire cardmakers who make cards fit as many as 10 challenges, how is it done? Well I realised today that I had combined two challenges. I put out the things I wanted to use for my two challenges and made up a card for the first one. When I looked at it I had actually used everything th...

A couple of cards

I had a great day on Saturday at the Papercraft Extravaganza in Harrogate , it all started with a breakfast workshop. I chose to do the Copics and Magnolia one, I was hoping to pick up some techniques. Unfortunately there was very little tuition but what was fantastic was the goody bag. The workshop was £11 but the goody bag included 7 C opics pens at a value of £1.99 each and a magnolia stamp, how good was that? I was thrilled, this is the card we made. I was absolutely shattered when I got back. I'm now counting the days to pay day but at least I've got plenty of purchases to occupy my time until then. I've also made this card for one of our sales team that is leaving this week, I've used two C ricut cartridges to get the image. I welded all the letters and the car together using the Design Studio software, it's great and makes lining everything up so much easier.
