Hand Crafted Memories

It's a theme challenge over on Stamp with Us this week. The theme is children's cards, so here is my entry. I've done it again, I made the fab five over on Stamp with Us again, it's the only card challenge that I do but I feel pretty pleased with my record of making the fab five. This was the card they chose this week. The current challenge over on the journalling challenge blog is to scrap words from a book or page. I chose Out of Africa, I love this film but I love Kenya as well. The film is based on the book of the same name written by Isak Dinesen the name Karen Blixen used for her books. The title of the page is the first line in both the book and the film. I've highlighted the title by cutting a frame from the vellum, I didn't want the journalling to be too prominent so it is underneath the vellum, this means it can be read but is not immediately 'on show'. I'm loving these trees at the moment, I have to be careful I don't put them on everything. The paper is from Jillibean Soup and because you are cutting the trees and birds out of the paper one...

I made the Stamp with Us fab five again, I can't believe it. See the card here . I have to admit it's probably one of my favourites that I've made. The challenge is now on to keep this going, this one makes it a fabulous three times now. The first card can be seen here and the second one here . It has really cheered me up today to make fab five again, I've had a sore chest and one of those nightmare coughs that gives you a headache and stops you from sleeping. This morning I woke with laryngitis, what makes it worse is I've got this week off work. I was feeling very miserable then I started to do my rounds of my favourite blogs to find this lovely surprise. Hooray! Thank you to everybody for your lovely comments . What a lovely day I thought I'd put some bedding plants in, I know it's still a little early but I decided to risk it. That was until I tried to bend down, I'm aching everywhere from all the decorating. I moved a couple of plants round to fill some gaps and I've given up. I now officially am going to have a crafting, napping, relaxing day. Here's the first of my craft catch ups. This weeks challenge at Stamp with Us is to make a birthday card, here's mine. I used all Stampin Up products: Ink pads - Bashful Blue & Basic Black Stamp Sets - Pocket Silhouettes & Happy Everything Ribbon - Whisper White Grosgrain Card - Whisper White & Real Red Paper - 12X12 Summer Picnic (I used both sides) Punches - 13/8" & 11/4" circles with this card.
