Texture Paste

While I have been blog hopping and pinning on Pinterest, I have discovered Texture PAte. Now its probably been out there for years but I've seen some very effective scrapbook pages that have used it. I inherited a pot from somebody who was throwing it away and I invested in a couple of masks and made a couple more. My first attempt was on the page I showed for the blog hop, it can be seen under the vines. 
Last night I made a card and I kind of like it. This is not my normal style and I think I'm still getting to grips with the whole mixed media style, but I kind of like it. The jury is still out and I think I need to play a lot more to find my comfort zone with the paste but its definitely worth persevering.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
