The Second Mini Book

How great are mini books for stash busting? I have been so inspired by some links my friend Lesley posted on her face book, that I have made two this week. The second one was inspired by this video. I loved the Tattered Time papers, how cool is this album but as I am trying to use up existing stash I talked myself out of ordering it. I did have the All about Boys stack kicking around so that's what I used. I love this little album so much I just keep flipping through the pages and there are no photos to look at!
the first page (on the right) the flap lifts up and the klonk, bang page folds down to show pages that hold 4 photos
the left page (checked) is a pocket to slide a photo/tag under the strip, the right side has the yellow mat for a photo and the blue border folds down
the black piece on the left is a photo mat the piece on the right fold out to hold 2 more pictures
the left is a plain page, on the right the strip folds down and then the light bulbs flap folds up for two more photos
The left is a pocket and the right is the same as the superman page above, all of the following pages are a repeat of the above, just covered with different papers.

I know want to make it again, can you imagine how beautiful it will be in the Mariposa papers. So I've given in and bought them, I know I said I wouldn't but this is going to be gorgeous!. This weekends task is to make the book again.

Welcome to the UKS Spring BlogHop! I hope you are all enjoying some lovely spring weather. You may have come to me from JimJams blog and her stunning mini book. It is important that you include your UKScrappers name in your comment.   I have created a page with some handmade flowers, I was inspired by the beautiful Prima branches, as usual I looked at them and thought I bet I could make those. This was my first attempt and I'm pretty pleased with myself. Also on the layout you should spot a lovely voile flower, some tiny pearl flowers and a couple of blossoms made from scallop circle punches. Although the bought flowersand vines are beautiful if you need to use ...

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued ...

You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
