One week later

It's a week since I last posted, that doesn't mean I haven't done anything, it means the light I need to photograph my efforts has been rubbish. Last weekend My friend Julia and I had a mini retreat in my kitchen. I love these weekends, we order a kit and then go searching for pages or challenges that catch our attention and away we go. This month we ordered the October kit from Sarah's Cards, it was yummy. We are both attending their retreat  in November so playing with this kit has made us doubly excited about the event.
I came across two peas in a bucket's free monthly workshops, I love free, so I've signed up, these will be perfect for our little get togethers. I also came across this page by Nichol Magouirk, I loved it. This is where we started with this lovely layout design and the gorgeous kit and I had just the right photo's for it. Here's my page
I just love it, you know when you make a page and just keep going back to look at it. It makes me smile. I liked the layout so much I made another one of my nephews. I was amazed how it looked with different papers, it's exactly the same layout.
It had the desired effect, Robin is really happy with it because its got more than one photo on it, and I'm happy because I got to do more than stick the pictures onto a background paper. Job done!

This was my first attempt and I'm pretty pleased with myself. Also on the layout you should spot a lovely voile flower, some tiny pearl flowers and a couple of blossoms made from scallop circle punches. Although the bought flowersand vines are beautiful if you need to use ...

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued ...

You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
