Pencil Lines sketch 193

I again have picked up my scrapbooking, I have recently bought some great papers to add into my stock of papers. Not on purpose you know, they just seem to appear and money disappears from my bank account, honestly I don't know how that happens! I really want to use them but the scrapbooking mojo, just hasn't been there.Sarah's cards have a brilliant summer sale on, so the same thing happened the money went out of my account and papers arrived!Then I saw last weeks sketch over at pencil lines, no 193

and this happened.

The chipboard thickers were one of my sale purchases but there were only 2xS's so I made do with one of the 5's instead. So far nobody has commented on it, I'm sure they think I'm just a little bit mad! Also the flourishes and border were sale purchases, yummy and bargain yumminess at that!

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout. Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking. I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic. Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued ...

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught. I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
