I'm a winner

I am so happy, I've just returned from a miserable two days in London. I have been stuck in a training room delivering the training with no air conditioning, no offer of a drink or anything. It was awful. Then the hotel didn't have any air conditioning either. Don't get me wrong I love this weather and I don't have ac at home, but I can open all my doors and windows to let the air circulate. Not possible in a hotel or training room in London when the window only opens an inch and the door is into a sweltering corridor. I stink! Thank goodness the delegates were all really lovely. I had to keep giving them breaks to keep them awake!
I arrived back to find out that I was a winner of one of the Daring Cardmakers personal prizes. I won Vanessa's prize of some of the Nikki Sivils papers and believe me I can't tell you how delighted I am. It just cancelled out all my negative feelings.
This was the card I entered for the overall challenge and I left a comment on Vanessa's blog to win my prize.

I'm posting it again because I just loved the sketch and the card I made. I also love these Anglomania papers from Craftwork Cards.
If anybody wants some of the Nikki Sivils papers Sarah's Cards carries some of them and Shhh! don't tell anybody but they are in the sale. I've stocked up!

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued

Christmas Project

UKScrappers are hosting a project a day for Christmas.  Rememeber you have to do the following to be in with a chance of winning a prize: Visit the UKS Home Page every morning to see that days project click the link to get the tutorial.
