Mini Me Class

I had a day off work yesterday, a bit embarrasing when I've only been back for three weeks. I had the worst cold over the weekend, I coughed that much I pulled a muscle in my stomach. Not too good eight weeks after abdominal surgery. A few Brufen and some bed rest I'm a lot better to day and back to work I go. Last night when I'd started to pick up I made a page based on Sarah's Cards mini me class. I got the sewing machine out and stitched on a layout. I always admire machine stitching on cards and layouts but it always seemed such a faff to get the machine out. I had some repairs to do on some clothes, so killed two birds with one stone. Sarah's Cards do the most fabulous, value for money scrapbook kits and I look forward to receiving mine each month.
I'm catching up with the scrapbook pages for my brother and his boys. I've been tackling the job from both ends, scrapping recent pages as he gives me the photos and working on the older ones in between and when I'm inspired. The boys are pretty much done it's my brother that needs pages now. Then I can do mine.

Looks fab Kathy, glad it gave you something to do on your day off! I agree with you about machine stitching, I am newly converted and yes it is a bit of a faff but sooooo worth it :)

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued

Christmas Project

UKScrappers are hosting a project a day for Christmas.  Rememeber you have to do the following to be in with a chance of winning a prize: Visit the UKS Home Page every morning to see that days project click the link to get the tutorial.
