April remembered

I have finished my April pages for the Document 2010 project, as time goes on I'm getting more excited about this album. Who knows I may soon be keeping up with everybody else! I have almost completed May as well, I just need to pick up some more photos. Page four of April, once again was scrap lifted from this post on Shimelle Laine's blog. I use this top tip so often now. The photos on the page are also from t'internet. I googled the building I work in as its a listed building and picked two of my favourite pictures. I also used this weeks sketch over on Pencil Lines for page 1. I was trying to make sure the pages were all different but at the same time trying to keep a similarity throught the album. I'm using the same 'tattered square' on one page each month, I'm alkso using a pae from my calendar and the papers all have the month printed on them. Hopefully this will all work. What lovely pages. I'm following this project too, and I agree - it's shaping up to be a fabulous album, and I'm sure we'll all look back at them with pleasure. It's the everyday details that we so often overlook, which are recorded here now.

I look forward to seeing your pages over the next few months.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
