A Little Yummy for Your Tummy

I know I've previously documented how the boys at work love my Rocky Road, well this week Chris told me he got into BIG trouble by his girlfriend for not taking her some last time I made it. Well we can't have that can we, so I made another batch on Monday night. After I'd made it I looked and thought, 'that's not even going to touch the sides' so i made another batch. Believe me by Tuesday lunchtime the whole company was so sugar loaded if the drug squad had come through we would definitely have had trouble explaining. When I cut it up into squares, I snaffled two pieces and made a little presentation box for Chris to pass on. This is how it looked:

Here's my recipe, I was told this batch was the best I'd ever made. Enjoy!

125g unsalted butter
200g plain chocolate
200g milk chocolate
3tbsp golden syrup
200g milk chocolate digestives
mini marshmallows
chopped mixed nuts
Melt the butter golden syrup and all chocolate together and stir until it is smooth (resist the urge to stick your finger in and lick it!).
  1. Batter the biscuits to bits, try and keep them a bit chunky.
  2. Stir the biscuits, mixed nuts and marshmallows into the chocolate mixture.
  3. Pour into a greased dish and refrigerate overnight until solid.
  4. Cut into squares and stuff your face.
Top tip

I've used all sorts of different chocolate from reall good quality to Asda smart price the best comments came with the Asda chocolate, so save your money.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
