Exciting News

I've had a secret for quite a few weeks now and I have been busting to blog about it. I had a lovely letter from Julie Hickey, (yes I mean THE JULIE HICKEY), inviting me to join the Design Team for Craftwork Cards <insert loud scream here>. I have been absolutely buzzing about it since I got the letter and accepted the offer, I am one of a team that has other great crafters on it all of who I have heard off and admired their work for quite some time. I can't believe that my 'little hobby' has resulted in this offer and I have to keep pinching myself. In case it's not coming across, I am soooo excited to start. This whole new episode in my crafting life began by me attending some workshops at their Leeds base, from the beginning I loved their generosity, kindness and encouragement. This has never changed but had developed into friendships with both Sue and Julie. As a trainer I love meeting people who give their time to encourage and enable other people, this comes over in bucket loads whenever I go for a crafting fix.

The latest workshops have just been released here, I will be leading one on the 17th October and working with my friend Lynda on 28th November. To make sure I keep getting my fix I will be attending all of the others. I know , I know, it's just too hard to pick only a few so I'm going to them all. If you are in the area why not book one (or more), leave a comment if you're coming on any and let Sue know you heard about the workshops here. Hopefully I'll meet some of my blog readers at the workshops.

Keep an eye out here I'll post most more news as things happen, in the meantime have a look at the Craftwork Cards blog here.

Also on the layout you should spot a lovely voile flower, some tiny pearl flowers and a couple of blossoms made from scallop circle punches. End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued
