A Scrappy Weekend

Last weekend my friend Julia came and stayed with me on Saturday night. We had a whole weekend of scrapbooking, for once I managed to get quite a l0ot done. I have found some old photos of my sister and her boys from when the boys were little. I pulled out a big pile of pages I had made but just needed photos adding. It felt great to finally get them finished. I then used up some scraps and scrap lifted this page, I love how it turned out, the original is here . Don't you just love Pinterest for inspiration and ideas It was also where I got the inspiration for the landscaping of my front garden, for ages I have wanted to get rid of the grass. I love the lawn when it is cut, neat and tidy, but it is shared and the slope is worse on my half. It was getting harder to keep it tidy. I decided to get some hard landscaping done. So this is the before and this is the after I just now need to decide what plants and what colour gravel I want to fill it with. I am so happy with it a...

Scrap Happy

What a glorious weekend this has turned out to be. The weather is stunning and I have a visitor to help me enjoy it. We have set up the garden furniture so we can eat al fresco, we could be anywhere. today is going to be a day full of scrapbooking and enjoying the weather. I've got another page from the Scrapstars retreat. This one was taught by Louise Collins , her style is altered meets grungy. This is my finished layout.

As promised

I promised last week that it wouldn't be so long between posts and here I am again. I have been trying to get onto my computer for the last three hours to publish this post, but every time I headed for the stairs it would start raining and I would have to run out and bring my washing in or the phone would ring or I would get a visitor. I'm not complaining the visitors were a welcome change. My washing is once again outside and I am writing this with one eye on the weather and the other on the computer. Speaking of which, my laptop was very poorly and as its about 4 years old I  was advised to buy a new one. So here I am now tackling the mysteries of window 8. I am persevering as it is very different to windows 7, but as there is no choice  I have to just get on with it. Today I am sharing my pre- retreat challenge page from the recent Scrapstars retreat. This years challenge was to use the title of a film on your page. Recently I had found an old page I made years ago, but ...

Remember Me?

I can't believe how long it is since I posted, no reason apart from a very busy period in my life. Since my last post I have changed jobs, unfortunately it wasn't a smooth transition with my old employers playing a bit of a dirty game. It's all sorted now and I am settling into my new job. I then went on a weekend trip to Glasgow to meet up with an old friend, and to celebrate her daughter's engagement. She hasn't changed a bit and I am planning to visit again soon. I've also been to the Scrapstars retreat. This was the best one ever. I was asked to teach two classes so I had my thinking cap on to come up with some ideas. I have a lot of projects to show so there should be no shortage of posts over the coming weeks. This was the first class I taught, an interactive travel themed page. It was based on a waterfall card. I just up sized it and rotated it. It holds 7 photos perfect for those times you want a lot of photos on one page.
