Scrapstars Weekend

Oh Boy am I tired today! Yesterday I spent the day with a bunch of lovely crafters, we had such a great day. Originally it was supposed to be a weekend retreat but for an number of completely uncontrollable reasons Caroline very generously offered for us all to have a day of crafting at her house. It's rare to meet people these days with such a generous nature as give over her beautiful house to 10 strangers and let them loose with glue, scissors and paper. Her fabulous husband made our lunch and we were not kicked out at the end of the workshops we all just drifted out of the house as and when we felt we wanted to. Tank you Caroline, I am now looking forward to September.
Our morning class was taught by Jolande Meurs, she taught the class on behalf of Monique Jacobs who couldn't make the trip over from Holland. I still have more work to do on the beautiful vintage wedding album that we made so  I'll post that when its finished.
Our afternoon class was taught by the very talented Kirsty Wiseman, a beautiful altered box for us to put all out hopes and wishes in. I loved this class and now am looking to create a little corner somewhere in my house to create a little corner for my 'art'. Look how fabulous my hope chest is, I love it!

Not only did Kirsty teach this class but she treated us all to the most delicious hand made choclates, all made by her own fair hands. I'm not ashamed to say Weight Watchers was the last thing on my mind as I scoffed them. It was well worth those extra calories/points. they were delicious. No photos of them though they weren't around long enough.
My brother has won himself BIG brownie points today, I've been waiting a couple of weeks for him to come and fit a blind in my bathroom for me, today he turned up, with these
I'm not a Mum and never will be, but he said because you never had anybody to get me flowers on Mother's Day he wanted to get me some, aaaah! He also got extra brownie points because look what was hidden amongst the flowers
He said it was there by accident but I was really happy, I have a butterfly somewhere in every room of my house, they just make me smile.
If anybody is interested in the Scrapstars retreat for the Autumn go here for details, if my day yesterday is anything to go by, it is going to be fantastic.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. I followed this with a couple of coats of cream paint and sanded the edges. This was followed with a sheet of 12x12 cut down to the same size as each panel and glued ...
