Creativity Boot Camp - Day 8

I am having a very tired day, I did my supermarket shopping this morning and now have a tired headache. I think it was all the excitement and driving yesterday. (5 hour round trip.) I also stayed up late last night to finish the pages and projects from yesterday, I need to find pictures for the pages we made. I did finish the little book we made, I added the final touches this morning, I post pictures when the silicone is dry. It is absolutely stunning, I can't stop leafing through it. I woke this morning and threw open my curtains to see England flags flying everywhere on the street. It made me laugh because after all of the effort to try and get a picture for yesterdays fly prompt, these flags were flying right outside my neighbours door. Sometimes its the obvious that we miss, I can be forgiven, they were not there when I left home yesterday morning.   Today's prompt is ornament, I think of an ornament as a decoration, either to decorate the home or ourselves. Here is my p...

Creativity Boot Camp - Day 7

I am very late in posting today, I went to Cambridge for the Scrapping Angels retreat. It has been a very long day because I left home at 7 AM and got back into the house at 9:30 PM. It was well worth it though, I had a great time and made three lovely pages/ projects. All the while I was thinking about today's prompt fly . As I started my journey home I'd given up and decided that fly would have to wait until tomorrow. No opportunity was presenting itself, when an hour into the journey I spied a hot air balloon. Hooray, I had my camera, I just needed a suitable place to stop on the A1 to capture what I saw. The light was excellent the sun was starting to come down and was behind a cloud that looked really silver round the edges there were bright silvery rays shooting to the earth through the holes in the cloud. The balloon was in silhouette. Could I get the blooming picture, not a chance. Every time there was a lay by on the A1, the balloon was obscured by trees. I finally ga...

Creativity Boot Camp - Day 6

Almost half way through the Creativity Boot Camp , I can feel my creative muscles straining from all this work. What is it they say no pain, no gain. Today our prompt is fluid . This makes me think of water, I'm a typical Cancerian and love being on or in water. Over the last few years here in the UK we've not had a summer because of one particular fluid, yes rain! Today we're having quite a pleasant day, typical when you want some rain to photograph it's not there! I took this photo a few days ago when I was trying to see how close I could get to something and still stay in focus. I also recently walked around Pugneys Country Park, they have a lovely lake with a school for teaching water sports. I always fell at my most chilled when I'm near water and the walk on this day really blew away the cobwebs. I took my camera and took some really lovely pictures, so it was really difficult to pick one but here it is. Tomorrow I'm going to Cambridge as a day delegate t...

Creativity Boot Camp - Day 5

The time  Bandits have been at my house today and stolen my day. I'm having a couple of days holiday and thought I would get my posting for today done much earlier. Where did today go? Well I did go out for lunch with my Auntie and Uncle, and I then bought myself a new little camera. For this project, I am using my DSLR, but in my bag, I always have my little Samsung point and press. It is quite a few years old now and eats batteries faster than I eat cake, (and believe me I eat it very quickly) so I have bought a Nikon Coolpix . OK I'm beginning to see where the day went.  Today's prompt for the Creativity Boot Camp was grow, and I have gone with my first choice. I knew Jenny would be coming to see me today; I made a nappy cake for her to give to a friend. She was coming to collect it and bring her lovely daughter. I grabbed the opportunity to grab some pictures of her while she is tiny and before she grows. Boy was this challenging, so far, I have taken pictures of in...

Creativity Boot Camp - Day 4

I'm a bit late in posting today, my friend came for dinner so it would have been rude for me to make her wait. So todays prompt was heavy metal . I immediatly thought of this:  I pass this wall sculpture every day on the way home from work. So today I took my camera into work so that I could stop and photograph it on my way home. I work in Sheffield, world famous for its steel. Unfortunatly the steel works have been closing down, but there is still plenty around to remind everybody. At Christmas he has lights on him and is lit up for the festive period. When I got to work a couple of the girls are now asking me what the prompt is for the day, when I told them and said what I intended to do, they told me of another place. It is just at the bottom of the road where we work and is part of the rejuvenating of the river. I'm not from Sheffield so had no idea what they were talking about. At lunchtime Vicky took me to the bridge and this is what I saw.   Here is one of the lights ...

Birthday Cards for Men

Cards for men really are quite difficult, so when I find a colour combination that isn't just blue and can work for men I use it. One of my favourite combinations is a bright blue, bright red and white. I think its modern and bright. Over the last weekend I made a few cards with this colour scheme, those of you who visit me regularly will also know I like simple. We have worked our way through all the previous cards I made for the boys at work so another batch was called for beginning with this one.
