A New Year

Happy New Year to everybody. I've packed away all my Christmas stamps and found a place on my new paper stand for all my Christmas papers, so its time to start with lovely spring colours and projects. These tent cards are all over the Internet at the moment and I thought they would look great made as calendars. I made them a couple of weeks ago but wanted to save them for my first post of the new year. I love them and they look so good in real life. The blue/taupe one is mine and sits on my craft desk. I made the pink one for Julie and the oriental one for Sue, hopefully they will get them on their first day back at work. The cards, patterned papers and focal points are all from Craftwork Cards. They also have a great choice of ribbons.
Edited: Just to show that great minds think alike, I was blog hopping today and somehow ended up here. I couldn't believe it when I saw Denise's calendar. I can assure you it wasn't cased, but I'm linking to her anyway.

End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello to all you UK Scrappers blog hoppers, hopefully you have arrived from Ifa's blog, I have been a fan of Ifa's clean scrapbooking style, how lovely is that layout.  Well the project I made is another take on what you can do with the vines I featured on the last blog hop. Often you see these things and think 'well they are lovely but what will I do with it'. Scrapbooking supplies are not just for scrapbooking.  I bought a bargain frame from a 'cheap' shop and wanted to add a bit of va va voom to it.I thought it was wood so was going to paint and crackle it,, turning it shabby and planned to give it a vintagey theme. Well that went out the window when I realised it was plastic.   Plan B then, I painted it with Gesso to give it a bit of 'tooth' so that whatever I did would grip. You are Here

I have had quite a productive few weeks on the scrapbooking front, there is nothing like a retreat followed closely by national Scrapbooking Day and a few challenges that get your creativity going. I mentioned previously that I was going to Scrapstars and as usual it didn't fail to deliver, it was great to meet up and catch up with everybody. Tracee Provis was one of the teachers, she is such fun and this was one of the layouts she taught.  I loved the fun colours and it was a great opportunity for me to scrap a photo from 37 years ago and my first girls holiday to Jersey. It was also my best friends birthday this week and a milestone birthday deserves a special card. She loves cakes, her garden and bling, luckily I got all of them onto her card.
